Many of us want to be close to YAHUAH but are unsure of where to start. We know that we need to repent and go to church every Sunday, but is this truly all there is to getting to know YAHUAH? This is something I struggled with for a long time. I went to church on Sunday, repented and listen to the pastor during bible studies and Sunday sermons, yet I did not know why I was doing what I was doing. Then one day, the Ruah brought this bible verse to my hearing:
2 Chronicles 7:14: …and My people upon whom My Name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I shall hear from the shamayim (heavens), and forgive their sin and heal their land.
On my journey back to YAHUAH, I make every attempt to live up to the words in this verse by being humble, pray and seek YAHUAH. I know that if I turn back to YAHUAH, HE will hear my prayers in heaven and will forgive my transgressions. He will heal me by having mercy, keeping me in his grace and peace and cover me. I know that this was no longer about listening and reading the words but also living and applying the words to my life.
THE TORAH AND BIBLE
The most important and meaningful step to take on this journey is reading the Bible and the Torah. Without reading these two books and diving into the words we are left as wanderers. We all have ways of learning about the Word, but to truly trust, grow and walk as Yahusha did, I’ve turned to The Cepher and HalleluYah Scriptures. I am forever grateful and blessed for the Ruah to reveal, lead and guide me to these books, to learn and continue to seek out the truth.
Thessalonians 5:19 – 21: Do not quench the Ruah (Spirit). Do not despise nebuoth (prophecies), prove them all. Hold fast to what is good.
YOUR HEART
Our heart is very fragile yet it’s the strongest feelings that drives our every emotion and action. On this journey our heart needs to be honest, pure, open and understanding to the path we’re about to embark on. In today’s world, we’re told to trust our heart, but sometimes trusting in your heart can reveal your intentions. Should you trust your heart or trust in YAHUAH’S ways. As humans, we tend to hide our desires but then say the words, I trust in YAHUAH. But if you trust in YAHUAH, you will walk in his ways. By walking in his ways, you put all the decisions at his feet regardless of the outcome.
Proverbs 28:26: He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely is delivered.
GROWTH
We have to be open to growth and changes. We cannot expect to walk on this path but still be afraid of changes. We need to put all our trust and fears in the hands of YAHUAH and know that he loves us and will always cover us. It may not be to our liking but we need to remove our ways and trust in YAHUAH ways. To grow is to remember that we’re made in the image of YAHUAH and Yahusha ha’Mashiah. We have to truly know the path and be confident in each step we take.
2 Peter 1:5-8 And for this reason do your utmost to add to your belief uprightness, to uprightness knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control endurance, to endurance reverence, to reverence brotherly affection, and to brotherly affection love.
As we continue to walk on the path YAHUAH created for us, we will trust his ways.
